Born in Verona in 2014, Rocket Radio is a creative crossroads where independent music culture finds its voice. We've become a meeting point for emerging artists and creative minds united by sounds that push beyond conventional boundaries.
Our studios are open doors to the community, spaces where local scenes connect with international stages. Each broadcast is a sonic exploration, each special event a celebration of diverse musical realities.

PROJECT ON FOCUS
The visual concept draws inspiration from early 2000s media players like Winamp and Windows Media Player, embracing their iconic modular interfaces. We've reimagined this nostalgic digital aesthetic through the lens of audio hardware – synthesizers and mixing consoles where independent blocks live and interact.
Our design language revolves around modular "black boxes" that float and move independently, creating a dynamic system that users can rearrange and customize. This approach echoes the hands-on tactility of analog equipment while celebrating the DIY spirit of digital audio pioneers.
Each module exists as its own entity yet belongs to a cohesive ecosystem – much like Rocket Radio itself: a collection of independent voices united by a shared frequency.
TECH ON FOCUS
Our digital architecture balances robust performance with creative flexibility through a carefully selected technology stack. Payload CMS paired with Next.js forms the foundation, enabling seamless content management while maintaining lightning-fast frontend experiences.
For the audio core – Rocket Radio's beating heart – we engineered a custom solution by wrapping the audio stream inside an Express Node.js server. This system implements innovative chunk splitting technology that precisely synchronizes visual effects with the music's tempo, creating a responsive audiovisual experience that pulses with each beat.
The e-commerce layer leverages Stripe.js integrated directly into Payload, streamlining transactions while maintaining the modular, component-based philosophy that defines our design approach. This interconnected ecosystem of technologies mirrors our radio's collaborative ethos – independent elements working in harmony to amplify creative expression.
